Rabbi Weiss/Boycott B & N

ON THIS DAY
On July 28, 1914, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. World War I began as declarations of war by other European nations quickly followed.
_______________________________________________________________

These are very sad days- so many many innocent people dying, suffering, for what ?
This is not a war over a G_d or religious differences-
( please google Rabbi Weiss )

We must urge our leaders - in what ever country you reside, to go back to 1946 and re-think, redesign the Balfour decision.

Do not watch Glenn Beck who is a rude non- thinking big mouth rabble rouser- boycott Barnes & Noble until they stop advertising on his site and for his company Mercury Entertainment.
If you have signed up for Match.com---resign from it-
Both promote people who add absolutely nothing but misunderstandings to so- called "debates" over current events.

We need to support intelligent, influential people of good will
These shouters are doing incredible damage to the national psyche.

How does your garden grow........

Pansies

7-19- '48 ...8-15-'04

for my sister........

Annually, Barb took her birthday week as vacation- to stay at home & spend leisure time away from the daily grind.
Part of that leisure was long phone conversations ......we caught up during the week, made plans, and laughed alot.
Barb called SMW for her birthday on the 18th and we would call B for her birthday on the 19th......and we remembered our Aunt Ange- whose birthday, incredulously, was the 17th of July.
" Mary Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
Silver Bells and cockle shells, all in a row."

..needless to say...
We miss her.

from the Village Voice a quote

Rome-born local techno DJ Silver wrote in: "I was walking my dog when we won. I heard cars beeping and a number of people shouting, 'Forza Italia!' Of course, I thought they were cheering me, but then I realized we won the cup. One more good reason to play Italo disco and cosmic disco. I smell a big Italian revival—hopefully this time it'll be more about music and art than pizza and spaghetti. We gave you art, food, Mafia, amazing Italo disco, and the fourth World Cup. Italians do it better!"

Hong Kong

ON THIS DAY
On July 1, 1997, Hong Kong reverted to Chinese rule after 156 years as a British colony.

Our daughter's friend Ming visited his Grandparents that year and sent us a dated postcard from Hong Kong We haven't seen Ming in awhile; we will treasure a tiny piece of history.

We are missing Sophia and Allison- it's been a whole 6 days since we have been in their sweet company. New photos in the works.

Weather here has been just wonderful some heavy rain - but not for long- blue skies, sunshine, not too hot.
On the Agenda- Erika and John's wedding and a reunion in august.
Orlando in October. SMW and PH will be going to Belo Horzonte, Brazil in October for a wedding. They also plan to visit SRW in San Francisco this month for a week.
Gigi is recovering nicely from her surgery last Tuesday-
we plan to visit while in the area that 3rd week of August.
I have been trying to find old photos - from 1986- somewhere around here-
we have an enviable collection of postcards - one of these days I will collect and organize- maybe launch a touring display .......and some need to be framed- like the one we have from T`epotzlan- a magical place.
Happy 4th to all who revere our Constitution...and are hoping beyond hope that our "America" will restore her dignity.
I will be cheering for Italy ! ! and Brazil !! in the FIFA finals.
enjoy the weekend...........
