Days of TMI and Procrastination

Maybe it's the lingering freezing temps aka cabin fever.

These have been days of too much information.
from the Sudan to Iraq to the Gulf Coast....

I now put off as long as possible- day-trips.
My body aches at the thought of having to put on so many pieces of clothing to step outside. Fibromyalgia is like that.
Very difficult to describe. Think of it as having flu-symptoms - with no end.
Some days ok- others, not so much.

molly Ivins

I came across this quote in a recent obituary for George Gerbner, who headed the Annenberg School for Communication for 25 years: "Fearful people are more dependent, more easily manipulated and controlled, more susceptible to deceptively simple, strong, tough measures and hard-line postures. … They may accept and even welcome repression if it promises to relieve their insecurities."
Molly Ivins writes about politics, Texas and other bizarre happenings.

looking fwd to spring-time activities- a birthday party on the 25th and
a sibling for Sophia expected 4 weeks later ....
SRose is coming home for a nice long visit ....in time for my
birthday- celebrating 60 years of life on earth.
there are so many of us ....
it will be a year of national celebrations.
news has it: BML is visiting Spain, soon. Wendy and Caitlin are off to the Amalfi coast this sunday. DH leaves tomorrow for golf outing in Fla and next week on to the hunting lodge for 4 days.
weather is very slowly warming- in spite of all the global warming evidence- it is never warm enough here for me.
Will be attending local meeting on the new 'development' planned for township property if sale goes through. No one here wants any more concrete or traffic or loss of green space. These are sad days - with an IKEA opening up right off the expressway exit
- it is especially difficult for long time residents- having watched our almost rural enclave turn into McCity. I can understand the township wanting to rid itself of properties- but I think residents have seen enough damage.
Paving paradise for a parking lot............
enjoy your day
